Lentils
Boiled Water
Chiefs Curry Powder
Roasted ground Geera or Whole Geera
Garam Masala
Garlic Herb Powder
Crushed red Peppers
Salt
Green Onions
Mari Wiri Peppers
Grind Up / Green Seasoning
Onion
Garlic
Cilantro
Chicken Broth
Oil
Recipe
Wash your Lentils
In your pressure cooker sauté your onions, garlic, and green seasoning
Add in your Lentils, seasoning (chiefs curry powder, salt, garam masala, garlic herb seasoning and let it sauté for 10 - 15 mins
Grab your Chicken Broth, add in half a box to the full box depending on the amount of lentils
Throw in your Mari wiri peppers !
Cover and pressure for 20 - 40 mins depending on how much lentils you are using
Time to Chunkay your dhal! Heat oil in a Daboo or ladle.
When the oil is hot, add in diced garlic and whole geera/cumin.
Once garlic starts to get golden brown, quickly add oil mixture to your pot of dhal and cover!
Stir to make sure it is the consistency that you would like, you can add water to make it more watery, or you can blend if your lentils do not smash on their own.
Serve over rice, Roti, or even as a soup and enjoy!
